Choosing a tattoo artist takes time, and I’d love to share my journey with you to help you decide if I’m the right fit for your tattoo needs.

BACKGROUND

I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, and spent my early 20s in Australia before returning back to Korea for university. After graduating, I worked as an underwater cinematographer assistant, traveling the world while filming documentaries. Though rewarding, I eventually pivoted to my passion for beauty. I’d been interested in makeup and nail art since I was 13, and in 2014, I fell in love with eyelash extensions. After moving to Canada in 2015, I realized my dream of running my own studio in 2017.

TATTOO JOURNEY

I’m a perfectionist, always seeking to improve. In 2018, I trained as a semi-permanent makeup artist, but I soon found that the lack of creative freedom didn’t fulfill me. My passion for art and design led me to tattooing. After getting a cat portrait tattoo from a friend, I became obsessed with tattoos. I started drawing more and took art classes to improve my skills.

I’d admired the work of tattoo artist Ziho (@ziho_gallery) for years and dreamed of learning from him. His tattoos, to me, are like jewelry for the body. So, when the opportunity came, I immediately flew to Korea to study under him. The process was challenging, but it was the best decision I’ve ever made—I truly love tattooing.
